The Weigand Homeless Resource Center offers a safe place for homeless individuals to stay cool or get warm during the day. It is the only day shelter of its kind in Salt Lake City.
What We Do
We offer homeless individuals shelter from Utah’s extreme weather conditions, and give access to showers, laundry facilities, luggage storage and haircuts. Our Clients Advocates (CAs) provide direct case management to clients, help them use our computer lab to search for work and benefits programs, and assist them in overcoming obstacles on their road back to self-sufficiency.
For the past 2 years, an average of 450 individuals sign in daily for our services. We have in house partnerships with the Salt Lake City Justice Court, The Road Home, Department of Workforce Services of Utah, and Fourth Street Clinic. We also have key partnerships with Volunteers of America, The Rescue Mission of Salt Lake and the LDS Church.
- Salt Lake City Justice Court offers “Homeless Court” every other week.
- Department of Workforce Services of Utah has outreach workers stationed three times week on site.
- Fourth Street Clinic holds open clinics on Wednesdays from 8:00am to 12:00pm.
The Weigand Center is open Monday – Sunday 7:00 am - 7:00 pm.
