Samantha first came to the Bishop Weigand Resource Center having recently started a new job and actively searching for a home for her family. With a housing voucher in hand, she was determined to secure a safe and welcoming place for herself, her fiancé, and their children.
Through persistent effort and guidance from the Bishop Weigand Resource Center staff, Samantha successfully found a house that met her family’s needs. She returned to the center seeking assistance securing the security deposit. Though her initial request was denied, staff advocated on her behalf and made the necessary adjustments, ultimately helping her secure the support she needed.
Shortly after, Samantha received the keys to her new home. She also obtained a voucher from Deseret Industries to help furnish her household, turning her new house into a warm and welcoming home.
Since then, she has maintained steady employment, enrolled her children in school, and embraced life with optimism and hope. Samantha looks forward to spending time in her yard—barbequing, playing with her children, and enjoying moments with their newly adopted dog. Her journey is a testament to what can be achieved with resilience, determination, and a community that stands alongside you.
