Shadrick, a refugee from Zambia, traveled to the U.S. in early 2018 after spending most of his life in refugee camps with his two brothers. Once in Utah, Shadrick was welcomed by the Lloyd family into their happy home through the CCS Refugee Foster Care Program. They provided Shadrick with something everyone needs: a loving and encouraging family. Thanks to support from CCS, his foster family, and many others in the community, Shadrick graduated from high school. He has since begun studying Mechatronics Engineering at Utah Valley University through the One Refugee program.
