Coats for Kids Program Donates New Coats to Hundreds of Needy Children

SALT LAKE CITY, UT (December 16, 2011) – In its third year, the Coats for Kids program organized by the Knights of Columbus will donate more than 15,000 brand new coats to needy children in cold-weather cities.  Locally, the Utah Knights of Columbus will be giving out nearly 200 new coats to children on Saturday, December 17th from 12-1 pm at Catholic Community Services’ St. Vincent de Paul Dining Hall.  Other distributions have or will take place in Heber City, Park City, Draper, Kearns, at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, and in Ogden, with nearly 600 new winter coats being given away this year in Utah.  This is almost double last year’s 320 coats.
